Interdisciplinary artist Valentin Fedorov

My practice is grounded in photography as an expanded field and approaches the image as a tool for thinking rather than representation. I engage with change as a natural and continuous condition, focusing on moments when forms lose stability and shift from one state to another.
Expanded Photography
Photography operates in my work as a temporal fragment rather than a fixed image. It functions both as a recording device and as a spatial element within installations, where questions of viewpoint, duration, and material presence become central. Projects often move between media and formats, producing hybrid and non-identical iterations.

Process and Transformation

By working with installation, video, and performative elements, I explore how images operate within broader systems — architectural, media-based, or institutional — and how meaning is generated through repetition, translation, displacement, and gradual transformation over time. The practice is driven not by final results, but by processes of transition, erosion, and disappearance.
